Dear Reader,

 I worked very hard to compose this material to pull off a well-organized succinct ceremony that would honor all involved. It was a beautiful ceremony and I was very pleased, everything was accomplished on time and seemed to flow, which was my biggest concern. I know there are still many areas of improvement so any suggestions are greatly appreciated. (I still have two more sons to plan eagle ceremonies for.)

 This project was developed due to the lack of information, resources and material for the parents sponsoring the ceremony. I was unable to attend many of the troop's Eagle Scout ceremonies so without the help and dedication of the other mothers I could not have done this. There is a formal protocol to the ceremony and it became my quest to find out the how's and why's. We reproduced this ceremony into a book form for my son's troop as a gift to the other mothers facing this monumental task. We have published this to help other mothers throughout the United States and other countries. We are so grateful to be able to share this with all of you.

Our sincere thanks to all the Scout Leaders, Families, Friends, and Church members. They so generously and unselfishly donated so much of their time. There is no greater honor for a parent than to have others support your child in achieving this rank.

Our goal for our son was to make this into a booklet for his memories and make it as presentable as possible so he and his children could cherish it. Unfortunately, I had to remove several graphics and emblems from the material to speed up the download time to you.

WHAT IS THE FUTURE FOR A SCOUT? RECORDS ESTIMATE THAT FOR EVERY 100 BOYS WHO JOIN SCOUTING:

     Ø     RARELY WILL ONE BE BROUGHT BEFORE THE JUVENILE COURT SYSTEM.

Ø     TWO WILL BECOME EAGLE SCOUTS.

Ø     SEVENTEEN WILL BECOME FUTURE SCOUTING VOLUNTEER’S.

Ø     TWELVE WILL HAVE THEIR FIRST CONTACT WITH A CHURCH, SYNAGOGUE, OR
  MOSQUE THROUGH SCOUTING.

Ø     ONE WILL ENTER THE MINISTRY.

Ø     FIVE WILL EARN THEIR FAITH’S RELIGIOUS AWARD

Ø     EIGHTEEN WILL DEVELOP A HOBBY THAT WILL LAST THROUGH  THEIR ADULT LIFE.

Ø     EIGHT WILL ENTER A VOCATION THAT WAS LEARNED THROUGH  THE MERIT-BADGE
  PROGRAM.

Ø     ONE WILL USE HIS SCOUTING SKILLS TO SAVE HIS OWN LIFE.

Ø     ONE WILL USE HIS SCOUTING SKILLS TO SAVE THE LIFE OF ANOTHER PERSON.
